Roto-Rooter Plumbing FAQ

You can look for signs such as sudden increases in your water bill, damp spots, mildew odors, or the sound of water running when all fixtures are turned off. Another method is to shut off all water-using appliances and check the water meter for movement. If you cannot locate the leak on your own, Roto-Rooter can use professional equipment to pinpoint the source quickly and prevent further damage.
Leaks inside walls often appear as soft drywall, bubbling paint, warped flooring, or musty smells. You may also hear dripping behind the surface. Opening the wall without knowing the exact location can cause unnecessary damage. Roto-Rooter uses moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and acoustic listening tools to locate hidden leaks accurately.
Underground sewer leaks can be hard to identify without the right tools. Signs include soggy areas in the yard, unusually green patches of grass, foul odors, or gurgling drains inside the home. Roto-Rooter locates these leaks with sewer cameras and electronic line locating devices. This equipment helps identify breaks, root intrusion, or collapsed sections without digging blindly.
Small leaks in a main drain line can sometimes be fixed by patching or replacing a short section of pipe. Larger issues such as cracks, root damage, or collapsed sections require more extensive repair or full replacement. Roto-Rooter will inspect the line with a sewer camera, determine the scope of the damage, and recommend the safest and most effective repair method. Main drain line repairs involve specialized materials and often require excavation, so they should not be attempted as a DIY project.
Non-invasive leak detection relies on specialized tools that locate leaks without cutting into walls or flooring. Roto-Rooter uses equipment such as acoustic listening devices, infrared cameras, and moisture meters to trace hidden water movement and temperature changes. These methods provide accurate results while keeping your home intact and minimizing disruption.

They had a technician out same day I called (they took my call at 3AM! And had the technician on the way before 8am when they opened. The technician, Robert Gomez, worked around all the issues we had, small space, having water come out of the piped when people would use cold water at our pedicure stations, etc, and handled it all like a champ. He worked tirelessly and had us up and running by halfway through the day with a brand new commercial grade water heater, and up to code installation. He had a great attitude, and went above and beyond helping to get the job done. Very impressed with his service.

It was a holiday Sunday when we noticed what appeared to be wet toilet paper on our driveway coming from a pipe access like labeled "sewer." We tried a toilet flush test and low and behold we could see water coming up from the access. Roto Rooter came within 2 hours of calling and roto-rooted that sucker clean! THANK YOU for the amazingly easy and affordable experience!
